Game 2 of the Cousland Cup 2026 at Midcalder Curling Club delivered another competitive evening of curling, with strong team performances beginning to shape the standings.

Sheet A

Douglas Wood’s rink continued their impressive start to the competition with a convincing 11–6 victory over Alan Ogilvie.

Wood, supported by Scott Baird, Andrew Graham and Bob Graham, put early pressure on the scoreboard and maintained control through the middle ends. Consistent shot-making and capitalising on key opportunities proved decisive, securing their second win from two games and keeping them firmly at the top of the table.

Sheet B

James Baird’s side recorded a solid 10–5 win over Abigail Rennie.

Backed by Pete Howden, Andrew Baird and Jane Thomson, Baird’s rink controlled the tempo well and built a steady advantage. Rennie’s team battled throughout but were unable to close the gap as Baird secured a valuable second victory.

Douglas Wood leads the competition with two wins from two and an impressive +6 shot difference. James Baird also sits on two wins, keeping the pressure on at the top.

John Sinclair has opened with a win from his first outing, while Alan Ogilvie and Abigail Rennie will be looking to bounce back in the next round of fixtures.
