Midcalder Curling Club AGM & Prize Giving

Another successful season comes to end for Midcalder Curling Club with there annual agm and prize giving. Craigie's Farm Shop and Cafe was the new venue for this years extravaganza. A big thanks to John & Kirsteen Sinclair for allowing us to use there magnificent venue as well as providing us with a great meal after the prize giving.
At the agm, Graham Wood and Harry Macpherson stood down from the committee with Scott Baird being elected to the committee. Welcome Scott to the committee and I'm sure you will bring lots to the club over the next few years!
A big thanks to ex President Graham Wood and ex Secretary Harry Macpherson for all there hard work they have done over the last few years. Thank You from Midcalder Curling Club.

Midcalder Juniors, David Baird, James Baird and Sophie Sinclair made a slide show presentation of there travels to Geising in Germany where they played in a Junior competition.
David, James and Sophie had the crowd in there palm of there hands as they recounted there travels.


Onto the prize giving where some people picked up many prizes, some people picked up a prize and others got an honourable mention.

Stoddart Cup, Graham, Richard, Lesley and Stuart
The first Big league of the season The Stoddart Cup was won by Stuart Barr, Graham Wood Richard Brown and Shanon Urquhart.

Stoddart Shield, Alan, Lesley and Jean
 The runners up in the Stoddart Cup were Alan Russell, Jean Brash, Alan Graham and Grant Knight who win the Stoddart Shield.

Cousland Cup, Graham, Harry, Jean and Lesley
 The winners of the second league of the season The Cousland Cup was won by Harry Russell, Graham Young, Jean Carruthers and Grant Knight.

Henderson Shield, Jim, Alan, Basil and Lesley 
 The runners up in the Cousland Cup were Andrew Graham, Basil Baird Jnr, Alan Crawford and Jim Wilson who win the Henderson Shield.

Torphichen Broom, Richard, Basil, Andrew, Harry and Lesley
 The winners of the Torphichen Broom were Basil Baird Jnr, Andrew Brash, Harry Macpherson and Richard Brown. Runners up were Stuart Barr, Bob Graham, Graham Wood and Alan Crawford.

Brydie Bonspiel, David, Harry, Lisa, Lesley and Stuart
 The winners of the Brydie Bonspiel were Stuart Barr, Harry Russell, David Baird and Lisa Barr.

Howden Shield , Harry, Jean, Lesley and Andrew
 Runners up in the Brydie Bonspiel were Andrew Brash, Harry Macpherson, Ian Fowler and Jean Carruthers who win the Howden Shield.

Wardrop Cup Bonspiel, Graham, Graham, Rebecca and Lesley
The Winners of the Wardrop Cup Bonspiel were Ian Fowler, Graham Young, Graham Wood and Rebecca Baird. The Runners up were Harry Russell, David Baird, Sophie Sinclair and Lynne McEwen.

Christmas Bonspiel, John, Graham, Lesley
 Winners of the Christmas Bonspiel were Graham Wood, John Sinclair, Claire Darragh and Alan Graham. Runners up were Graham Young, Jean Brash, James Baird and Callum Wood.

Buchanan Pairs, Basil, James, Lesley
 Winners of the Buchanan Pairs were James Baird and Basil Baird Jnr. Runners up were Scott Baird and Harry Russell.

Ross Trophy, Stuart and Lesley
 Winner of the Ross Trophy for the points competition was Stuart Barr and the runner up was Graham Young.

Junior Points, Rebecca, Lesley
 The winner of the Junior points competition was Rebecca Baird and Runner up was David Baird.

Inter Club Competition, John, Andrew, Jean, Lesley and Stuart
 Winners of the Inter Club Competition were the Midcalder team of Stuart Barr, Andrew Brash, John Sinclair and Jean Carruthers.

 Winners of the Junior Club Competition were James Baird, Sophie Sinclair, Callum Wood and Ewan Barr.

Junior Runners up, David, Rebecca, lisa and Lesley 
 Runners up in the Junior Club Competition were David Baird, George Sinclair, Rebecca Baird and Lisa Barr.

 Winner of the Draw Shot Challenge was Sophie Sinclair.

 The winner of the President Cup for his work on the Midcalder Curling Club Blog was Alan Russell.
