Midcalder Mid Lothian Province Bonspiel Champions

Midcalder kept up there fine form when they stormed to victory in the Mid Lothian Province Bonspiel. With 76 teams playing throughout the day, Midcalder first game was at 10 am. In that team was John Baird (skip), Christine Hamilton (third), Christine Smellie (second) and Jean Brash (lead). They got Midcalder off to a good start with a 6-3 win over Royal Bank of Scotland.
The second game was at 2 pm and this team of Basil Baird (skip), Graham Young (third), Andrew Brash (second) and John Sinclair (lead) got Midcalder into contention of winning after they won 10-4 against DAFS.
The last game of the day for Midcalder was at 6 pm and the team was Stewart Barr (skip), Alan Russell (third), Scott Baird (second) and Alan Graham (lead). They got off to a good start and continued push ahead throughout the game and in the end they had managed to win 16-2 over Bank of Scotland.
Midcalder had finished with a average of plus 7.6 shots over the three games and now had to wait to see what the opposition could do. Carrington came close, but were unable to catch the Midcalder score and finished second overall with Watsonians finishing third.
