The first competition of the season, the Jackson Trophy, was competed this weekend, 28/29 September. Mid Calder played in the round robin with Carrington, Andrew Barr and Ian Keron.
Team Mid Calder (Graham Young, Andrew Brash , Jim Wilson and Harry Macpherson) lost the first game on Saturday to Carrington by the narrow margin of 6-5.
On Sunday, Andrew's place was taken by Jean Brash.
Sunday we again lost narrowly 5-4 to Andrew Barr’s rink.
With now no hope of winning the trophy, we lost to Ian Keron’s rink 9 -2.
The winners were Ian Keron’s rink – Ian Keron, Sean Murphy, Ritchie Stewart, Ann Keron (Saturday) and Carol Carnie (Sunday)
