Probably The Closest Bonspiel Ever!
Midcalder Curling Club held there opening Bonspiel and it turned out to be one of the closest competitions ever.
All three matches were very close and with a three-point lead was the biggest lead held in all three matches. Bob Smellie held that lead going into the final end but after two fresh air shots and an amazing last shot by Jean Carruthers gave Ian Kerons Team a three and peeled the game at 6-6.
The final two games saw Bob Graham take on Graham Young and Christine Hamilton versus Scott Baird. Both games were peeled going into the last end. Christine Hamilton scored a single in the last end to win there match 5-4 and Graham Young also scored a single in the last end to win there game 6-5.
Christine and Graham's team both finished with the same shots up and ends scored. Graham Young and his team of Graham Wood, Ewan Barr and Abigail Rennie won the competition as they scored one more point and this game the Brydie Bonspiel title.
