Midcalder Curling Club ended their club competitions of the season with the Wardrop Bonspiel. In a new twist to the competition, all players in the competition had to play with sticks when delivering their stones.
They were a lot of interesting shots played in the competition and it was Stewart Barr and his team of Andrew Brash, Abigail Rennie and Alan Crawford who made the most of the sticks with a 12-4 win over Alan Russell to win the competition with +8.
The team of Ian Keron, Basil Baird, Bob Graham and Jean Carruthers finished runners up with +4 after defeating Graham Wood 9-5.
Third place went to Andrew Keron, Christine Smellie, Lorna Scott and Lynne McEwen when they finished +1 with a 5-4 win over Scott Baird.
