Christine Freezes Opposition To Win Christmas Bonspiel
Midcalder Curling Club held there annual Christmas Bonspiel with the theme being Frozen.
Game one saw Christine Hamilton get off to a good start leading 4-0 after to ends. Bob Graham Closed the gap by the fifth end before Christine won the last three ends to win the match 9-2.
Game two was a much closer match that could have went anyway. Stewart Barr had the early advantage leading 4-1 after three ends but then found themselves 6-4 down to Jim Wilson after five ends. Stewart then leveled the match with a 2 in the sixth end. Jim had the final say by winning the last two ends and the match 9-6.
Congratulations to Christine Hamilton and her team of Bob Smillie, Lesley Barr and Jean Brash for winning the Christmas Bonspiel with plus seven shots.
Congratulations also to Anne Baird who won the Fancy dress prize and to Stewart Barr who was runner-up in the fancy dress.
