Basil's Winning Streak Continues to go Top of Broom
They were some contriving scores in game two of the Torphichen Broom. David Baird's team came through a tight match against Douglas Sands. His team won four singles in a row to lead 4-0 after five ends. Douglas won the last two ends but wasn't enough as David Baird won the match 4-2.
Basil Baird kept his form going when his team whitewashed Ian Keron to move clear at the top of the Torphichen Broom. Basil got underway with a single in the first end, then a two in the third, a four in the fifth, and finished the match off with a six in the sixth end to win 13-0.
Graham Young got off to a great start leading 5-0 after two ends. Stewart Barr replied with a five in the third then Graham moved back into the lead with a two in the fourth only for Stewart to win a three in the fifth to take the lead. A strong finish by Graham's team saw them win the last three ends to win the match 13-8.
