Game 4 of the Cousland Cup 2026 at the Midcalder Curling Club produced two entertaining matches and a significant shift at the top of the standings as the competition moves towards its final round.

Rennie and Ogilvie Share the Spoils

The opening match of the night saw Abigail Rennie face Alan Ogilvie in a closely fought contest that finished all square at 7–7.

Both rinks exchanged shots throughout the game, with neither side able to build a decisive advantage. Rennie’s team produced some strong middle-end scoring to stay in contention, while Ogilvie responded with important shots of his own to keep the match level. In the end, honours were shared, giving both teams their first points of the competition.

Baird Claims Big Win Over Sinclair

In the second match, James Baird delivered a strong performance to defeat John Sinclair 11–7.

Baird’s rink made an early impact on the scoreboard, building momentum through the middle ends with a series of multiple-shot scores. Sinclair battled hard and kept the pressure on, but Baird’s side maintained control to see out the victory and collect another important win.
