Cousland Cup Heats Up After Third Round
Cousland Cup 2026 – Game 3 Round-Up
Game 3 of the Cousland Cup 2026 at the Midcalder Curling Club delivered two competitive matches and another shake-up in the early standings.
Douglas Wood 6 – 4 John Sinclair
Douglas Wood’s rink continued their strong start to the competition with a 6–4 win over John Sinclair. The game was closely contested through the early ends, with both teams trading single points and keeping the scoreboard tight.
Wood’s team managed to build a small cushion in the middle of the match, and despite Sinclair applying pressure late on, Wood held firm to secure the two-shot victory. The result keeps the Wood rink perfect after three games and firmly at the top of the table.
James Baird 10 – 4 Alan Ogilvie
The second match saw James Baird produce the biggest score of the round with a convincing 10–4 win over Alan Ogilvie. Baird’s rink controlled the game early and capitalised on key opportunities to build a strong lead.
Ogilvie fought hard but was unable to close the gap as Baird continued to apply pressure through the middle ends, eventually running out comfortable winners.
Standings After Game 3

James Baird – Played 3, Won 2, Lost 1, Shots +10, Points 4
John Sinclair – Played 2, Won 1, Lost 1, Points 2
