Inter Club Challenge Review
Another great days curling was on show at this years Inter Club Challenge match, Which see's Midcalder Curling Club Invite three curling clubs to challenge them at a bonspiel. All matches were played in the traditional spirit of the game of fun competitiveness curling.
Match 1 saw Midcalder A team of S Barr, A Brash, J Sinclair and J Carruthers take on Currie & Balerno team of A Barr, D Munro, N Nicol and M Nicol.
Midcalder A ran out winners of this match 9-3 and Stewart Barr committed that the match just like the match he played against Currie & Balerno a week earlier at the Swan.
Match 2 saw Midcalder B team of B Graham, G Wood, H Macpherson and I Fowler take on Penicuik team of A Anderson, W Brown, A Lambie and V Ramage.
Penicuik ran out winners of this match 9-7. This match was a closely played, with both side jostling for the lead, But Penicuik took a two in the last end to win the match.
Match 3 saw Midcalder C team of A Russell, M Baird, J Brash and R Brown take on Livingston team of A Crawford, J Adens, J Wilson and D Adens.
Midcalder C ran out winners of this match 11-7. Midcalder C lead early on in this match but swung back to Livingston favour after the third end when Mhari Baird had to leave the match. Midcalder C recovered to win the last two ends and the match.
Midcalder A took the Trophy for overall winners. Penicuik won prizes for Best Invited Club and Currie & Balerno didn't go home empty handed this time, They won the Bobbie Prize and received some lolly pop's.
