International Gathering 23-25 March 2012

First game vs Team Bambi (Denmark) we lost narrowly 6 - 5.

The third game in the round robin was against Barbarians on Saturday morning. The weather was fine . We came second - by a long way.

In the first game of the section we drew - who else? - Penicuik.(Sorry - no photo)
It was a very tight game. Penicuik were leading 7 - 6 going in to the last end.
With only last stone to come, they were lying two. Jim (Wyllie) managed the double take out and we scored 5 to win 11 - 7.
Next game (Sunday 0930) is vs Aritma (Czech Republic) and then finally Boswell at 1.00pm.
REMEMBER TO CHANGE THE CLOCKS

The game against Aritma was very close and finished 5 - 5


There is no truth in the runour that some of the team members were distracted by the miniskirts.

However, unbeaten, 3 points, we proceed to the next game with Boswall.
Aritma play Penicuik. If Penicuik win and we win, we are section winners.
If Aritma win, we have to win by more than 4 ends to beat their "ends" score.

Well - results are in. We won the first 5 ends. (Alan Russell. Scott Baird, John Baird, Harry Mac) Lost one shot at the last end, winning 8 - 1.
Penicuik led Aritma - but Aritma won 6 - 5 on the last end.

Aritma won the section by 2 ends.

Winners of the Section 1 were the Murrayfield Ice Technicians led by Douglas Baxter.
5 of the 7 sections were won by overseas teams.
Fellowship Quaich was won by Balfron who have been at every International Gathering,.
