Close Games Kick-off Stoddart Cup

 Midcalder Curling Club got their Stoddart Cup League underway with three closely fought games. Game one saw Laura Barr's team race into a 7-1 lead at the halfway point. Graham Young's team got right back into the match with a five in the fifth end and then leveled the game with a single in the sixth end. Laura's held their nerve to score a two in the last end to win the match 9-7.

Stewart Barr's team got off to a great start leading 7-1 against Alan Russell in game two. Alan's team did make a slight comeback, but wasn't enough as Stewart's team held on to win the match 8-6.

In the last match of the week, Mhari Howden's team took the early advantage over Scott Baird leading 6-4 at the halfway point. Scott's team then went into the lead by winning the next three ends, only for Mhari's team to take a two in the last end to win the match 8-7.
