History Made In Opening Game Of Torphichen Broom

History was made in the 122nd year of the Torphichen Broom competition when two ladies played in the competition for the first time.

Basil Baird moved top of the league with a dominant performance against Graham Young. Basil's team won five of the six ends played in a 9-0 victory. 

Stewart Barr also managed to shutout his opposition when he defeated Scott Baird. Stewart doubled his score in the last end to win the game 6-0.

The last game was much closer, though Bob Graham looked like he was in control leading 7-2 after four ends. Alan Russell's team fought back with a 2 in the sixth and a 3 in the last end to draw the game at 7-7.
