Team Sinclair Takes Stoddart Title

The final two matches in this seasons Stoddart Cup took place and with it all still to play for. John Sinclair needing a win to take the title was up against Graham Wood who needed a win to move off the bottom of the league. Graham Wood held the early advantage when his team leads 4-2, but John then scored a 4 in the fifth end to take the lead back. Two singles in the last two ends pulled Graham's team level but in one final twist to the season John's to were given three penalty points as Graham's team were playing with three players. This gave John and his team off Andrew Graham, Jim Wilson, and Abigail a 9-6 victory and Stoddart Cup Champions.
The night's second match saw Alan Russell's team lead 4-2 at the halfway point against Basil Baird's team. A 2 in the fifth end leveled the match for Basil's team, but Alan's team finished the match with two singles to win the match 6-4.
