Underdog's Take Broom

 Coming into the final of this season Torphichen Broom Competition Graham Young's team come through the league part undefeated and had high hopes of taking the title. On the other hand, Alan Russell's team scraped through to the final by one shot when the remaining teams all finished with one win. 

Alan Russell's team took the early advantage winning the first three ends with singles, they then scored a two in the fourth end to lead 5-0 at the halfway point. It didn't get any better for Graham's team when they conceded two singles in the fifth and sixth end. Graham's team got on the scorecard on the seventh end, but that would be the last end as Alan Russell's team won the game 7-2.

Congratulations to Alan Russell, Ewan Barr, Graham Wood, and Graham Russell for winning this season's Torphichen Broom. 

In the 3/4 game, Stewart Barr defeated Basil Baird to finish third overall.
