Flying Start to Broom For Keron
The Torphichen Broom competition got underway for this season. Ian Keron was up against David Baird's team in the opening game. A solid start to the match from Keron saw them leading 5-0 at the halfway point. David Baird's team won the next end with singles only for Keron's team to win the last three ends and the game 9-1.
In the second game, Graham Young built up a 5-0 after 5 ends. Basil Baird won the sixth and eighth end to close the gap to two points. Basil took the points though as Graham's team only had three players meaning Basil won 6-5.
In the final game of the week, Stewart Barr's team got off to a flying start winning the first three ends to lead 7-0. Douglas Sands team scored three points in the next two ends to close the gap. Stewart's team finished the game off by scoring a three in the last end to win the game 10-3.
