Midcalder's Glenfarclas Hopes Hang By A Thread
Midcalder's hopes of promotion to division one of the Glenfarclas Mid Lothian Province League were dealt a blow when they lost 9-4 to Stewarts Melville Curling Club. After a close first two ends of the game, the match turned in the third end when the Stewarts Melville skip hit and lie for a four. Midcalder were always playing catch up after that. They came close to getting back in to the game, but were halted from some big shots from the Stewart Melville skip. Playing for Midcalder on the night were Stewart Barr (skip), Alan Russell (third), Graham Young (second) and Scott Baird (lead).
Midcalder lie three points behind leaders Barbarians and two points behind Lothian & Borders Police with one game to go.
