James Takes Asham Under 21 Slam Title
Congratulations James Baird who not only won the Lockerbie Junior Mens Invitation but also won the overall Men's Asham Under 21 Slam Title with Team Whyte. James team had finished second in their group to fellow Midcalder member David Baird (Team Brydone) but came through the quarter finals and semi-finals to set up a rematch against Team Brydone in the final who were unbeaten in the competition at this point. The final was a very close affair with the match going into an extra end. Team Whyte used their last stone advantage to win the extra end and the title.
The result lifted Team Whyte up from fourth to first in the Slam after other results went their way to claim the title. Congratulations to Ross Whyte, James Baird, Gavin Barr and Euan Kyle for winning the Asham Under 21 Slam and also to David Baird who finished second in the Slam.

In the Lockerbie Junior Women's Invitation, Rebecca Baird playing with Team Morrison finished third in the group stages but were then beaten in the semi-final by eventual winners Team Murray. Team Morrison did bounce back to win the 3v4 game to finish third overall in the competition and second overall in the Women's Asham Under 21 Slam.
