Scott's Team Wrap Up Stoddart Cup
Scott Baird and his team of Andrew Brash, Alan Crawford and Isabel Graham won the 2014 Stoddart Cup after defeating Bob Graham's Team in the final game. Needing a win or a draw to win the Stoddart Cup, Scott's Team stormed into a 5-0 lead after three ends. Bob's team then closed the gap to 7-4 going into the final end before Scott held his nerve to take a 2 in the last end to win the match 9-4.
Stewart Barr moved up one place in the league to finish third overall after defeating Alan Russell's team in the eighth end. Stewart's Team lead 3-1 after four ends before Alan's team came back to tie the match in the seventh end. Stewart with last stone advantage hit and lie for a three to win the match 7-4.
The weeks final match saw the bottom two teams up against each other. Graham Wood's Team twice built up a lead in the match before Basil Baird's Team came back at them to tie the match at 6-6 going into the last end. But it was Graham's team that held their nerves with a single in the last end to win the match 7-6. The win moved Graham's team up to fifth in the league and in a week when Basil's son won the league, Basil has the honor of winning the wooden spoon!
