Bob Goes Clear At Top Of Broom
The top two teams were up against each other in Game 3 of the Torphichen Broom competition and it was Stewart Barr that got off to a great start when he scored a 4 in the second end, but that was it for Stewart's team for the day as Bob's team scored 5 points in the next three ends and then scored a 4 in the seventh end to win the match 9-4.
The middle two teams were also up against each other and it was Graham Young's team that had the better start scoring a 2 in the first and fifth ends before Alan Russell's team closed the gap to 1 point after winning the sixth and seventh ends, but it was Graham's team that held their nerve to score a 2 in the last end and win the game 6-3.
This left the bottom two teams up against each other and Scott Baird leads 7-2 at the half way point before Basil Baird's team closed the gap with a 2 in the fifth. Scott's team replayed well scoring 5 points in the last two ends to win the match 12-4.
