Perfect 10 For Andrew In Cousland
With the league title in the bag, Andrew Brash was playing second-placed team Lesley Barr who were in prime position to win the Henderson Shield runners-up in the Cousland. Andrew's team had the better start and lead the match 5-1 after four ends before Lesley's team bounced back with a 3 in the fifth end. Andrew's reply couldn't have been much better with a 4 in the sixth and they held on in the last to win the match 9-5 and win the league with five wins out of five.
Congratulations to Andrew Brash and his team of Alan Russell, Harry Macpherson and Lynne McEwen for winning the Cousland Cup.
Christine Hamilton was having a close game in the first three ends of their match against John Baird as they lead 2-1 but then she stole a 6 followed by a single which not only helped them to a 10-3 win over John Baird but also helped them move up to second place in the league and win the Henderson Shield.
Congratulations to Christine Hamilton and her team of John Sinclair, Alan Graham and Grant Knight for winning the Henderson Shield.
This left only one thing left to win, The Wooden Spoon. The bottom two teams were up against each other hoping not to finish at the bottom of the league. Graham Russell and Alan Ogilvie team had a very close game and the teams were tied at 3-3 after four ends. Graham Russell held a one-point lead going into the last end but Callum Wood subbing for Alan held his nerve to score a two in the last end to win the match 6-5.
Both team's were happy after the match as because John Baird had such a big loss it was his team that won the Wooden Spoon.
