So Near So Far In Rink Championship Finals
Midcalder Curling Club was in action at the rink championship finals held at the Forfar indoor sports centre. Playing for Midcalder were David Baird, Sophie Sinclair, Rebecca Baird, Scott Baird and Basil Baird.
The story of the weekend was so near so far as results didn't quite go their way. First up were Fife Two and they held the lead going into the last end where they lost a single to tie the match at 5-5.
Next up was Braehead Two and the match was tied going into the last end but without the hammer, they lost a single and the game 5-4.
Game three saw Midcalder taking on Stirling and again a close game going down to the last end need a 2 to tie the game they scored a single and lost the game 6-5.
The last game in Group B was a must win game for Midcalder as they took on Inverness Two and like all of their other games in the competition it was a close game going down to the last end needing a 2 in the last end to tie the match they scored a single to lose the game 7-6.
