Pate Trophy

Midcalder Curling Club was in action in the Pate Trophy which is a competition played between Mid Lothian Province and the Border Province which has been running since 1962.   The scoring is a bonspiel with the province with the highest shots winning the Pate Trophy. 
The Midcalder team of Harry Macpherson, Douglas Burns, and Alan Graham played Earlston Curling Club and both teams were tied at 7 all after six ends. Earlston then took a 3 in the seventh and with Midcalder only able to score a single in the last end it was Earlston that would win the game 10-8.  
Border Provance went on to win the Pate Trophy with a 66-54 over Mid Lothian Province.
