No Early Christmas Present For Alan As Stoddart Goes Down To The Wire
Alan Russell missed out the chance to win the Stoddart Cup after losing their first game against Andrew Brash who got off to a great start by scoring a 4 in the first end. Alan's Team then got back into the game by scoring singles in the next three ends before Andrew extended his lead again by winning the next two ends and a 3 in the last end for Alan wasn't enough as Andrew won the game 7-6.
Graham Wood kept his chances alive of winning the Stoddart Cup by defeating John Sinclair. The game was very close and the scores were tied at 4-4 after four ends. John's Team then went into the lead with a single before Graham's Team won the last two ends to win the match 7-5.
The final game of the week saw Basil Baird move clear of the regulation battle after defeating Bob Graham. Basil's Team won the first four ends to lead 5-0 and despite Bob's Team winning two of the last three ends it was Basil's Team that won the match 7-2.
