Basil Stays Top Despite Dropping First Point In Broom

Basil Baird dropped his first point in this seasons Torphichen Broom league after drawing his game against Alan Russell. It was Basil who held the early advantage before Alan came back to lead 4-3 at the halfway point. Basil then found himself three points down going into the last end and needed a run back with the last shot to score a 3 to tie the match at 8-8.
Graham Young moved up to second in the league after defeating Scott Baird. Two 4's in the first four ends saw Graham lead 8-5 and then his team went on to win the last three ends to win the match 13-5.
Stewart Barr kept his hope of winning the Broom alive despite dropping to third in the league. Stewart was leading 3-2 after four ends against Bob Graham and with a further two 2's in the last three ends meant that Stewart would win the game 7-4.
