Scott And Jean Win Nail Biting Final In Buchanan Pairs
Midcalder Curling Club made there way up to Forfar Indoor Sports Curling Rink to play the Buchanan Quaich Pairs Competition.
It was a great day curling with 5 teams playing a round-robin draw and then the top two teams playing for the trophy. The curlers played three shots each over 4 ends games with teams getting 2 points for a win, one for a draw and none for a defeat.
After hard exciting round-robin game, the trophy came down to Alan Russell and Christine Smillie up against Scott Baird and Jean Brash.
Scott and Jean held the lead at the halfway point when they scored a 3 in the second end to lead 3-1. Alan and Christine won the next two ends with singles to take the match to an extra end.
In the last end, Scott played a hit and roll to lie two shots and with Alan's last shot unable to get closer, Scott and Jean took the title.
