David Clean Sweeps Broom

 David Baird and Colin Howden were the only teams with a chance to win this season's Torphichen Broom Competition. 

Colin's team needed a win and hoped that David would lose to have a chance but found themselves 4-2 down to Stewart Barr's team at the halfway point. Stewart's team blanked the fifth end and then Colin's team won the final three ends to win the match and keep their title hopes alive. 

David's team had a strong start against Basil Baird's team as they led 7-2 at the halfway point. Basil's team then won the next two ends to tie the match going into the final two ends. David's team scored a four in the seventh to take the lead back and then they ran out Basil's team on the last end to win the match and the Torphichen Broom title. 

In the week's last match, Ian Keron's team won five of the opening six ends to lead 8-0. Graham Young's team got on the scoreboard on the seventh end before Ian's team finished the match with a single to win 9-2.
