David Remain's Top of Broom

There was a low-scoring start to the week's opening game when the first three ends were blanked in the match of Colin Howden versus Ian Keron. I was Colin's team that finally got on the board when they won singles in the fourth and fifth ends. After a blank in the sixth end, Colin's team scored a three to move clear,m this was because Ian's team was given three points for Colin's team only having three players. The final end was blanked giving Colin's team a 5-3 win.

In contrast to the first game, the second game was a much higher-scoring game. David Baird's team got the game underway with a single in the opening end. Stewart Barr's team replied with a four in the second end only for David's team to score four in the third. A two for Stewart's team in the fourth end put them back into the lead only for David's team to score a three to take them back into the lead. The next two ends were blanked before David's team scored a four in the last end to win the match 12-6.

The final match was another game with lots of blanked ends. Graham Young's team got the match underway with a two in the opening end. The next three ends were blanked before Graham's team won the next two ends to extend their lead. They were another blanked end in the seventh before Basil Baird's team got on the scoreboard in the last end. It wasn't enough as Graham's team won the match 6-1.
