Midcalder Were A Beat Away From Winning Bonspiel

Midcalder Curling Club continued there support of the British Heart Foundation Bonspiel held at Murrayfield Curling Rink. In its eleventh year of the Bonspiel, they managed to raise over £1000 pounds on the day for the Foundation. On the curling side of things, Midcalder's hearts were broken right at the end of the Bonspiel after looking like winning it. Merchiston Curling Club had a very strong finish to there game to finish on plus seven shots, one ahead of Midcalder. Playing For Midcalder were Alan Russell (skip), Harry Russell (third), Harry Macpherson (second) and Jean Carruthers (lead) and they defeated Corriefisters 9-3.
