Scott Pips Lesley To Cousland Cup
The last Cousland Cup game and last club game of the season saw Scott Baird needing a win to take the title away from Lesley Barr's team. Scott's team held a 3-1 lead after four ends against Andrew Grahams's team. Andrew then bounced back to lead 4-3 going into the last end. Scott was able to regroup his team in the last end and when Andrew's last shot failed to come off, Scott's team had the victory they were after.
This left Scott and his team of Alan Russell, Ian Provan and Jim Wilson, winners of the Cousland Cup after they had a better shots difference from Lesley's team after both team's were tied on ten points in the league.
The other game of the night saw Callum Wood, standing in for Harry Russell take on Andrew Brash's team and it was Callum's team that stormed into a 7-1 lead after four ends. But then Alan Graham, skipping instead of Andrew Brash on the night bounced back to win the next three ends to lead the match 8-7. Callum's team held their nerve on the last end and scored a two, which gave them a 9-8 victory.
