District Medal Loss
Midcalder Curling Club played Forfar Curling Club for this season's District Medal held at Murrayfield Curling Rink. The Competition sees Two Midcalder teams taking on two Forfar teams with the combined score finding the winning team.
Midcalder One of James Baird, David Baird, Richard Brown and Jean Carruthers got of to a slow start when they found themselves 5-1 down after four ends. They closed the gap with a 2 in the fifth before losing a 4 in the sixth end to give Forfar One a 10-3 victory.
Midcalder Two of Ian Keron, Bob Graham, John Sinclair and Jim Wilson traded 3's in the first two ends before scoring a 3 in the third end. Each end of the whole game went with the hammer and Midcalder found themselves 11-5 up playing the last. Possibility going for a big score in the last end, Midcalder lost a 5 in the last end but did manage to hold in for an 11-10 victory.
This gave Forfar a 20-14 victory overall. Congratulations to Forfar Curling Club for winning the District Medal.
