Scott Closes The Doors On Everyone To Win Wardrop
Midcalder Curling Club ended their club curling for the season with the Wardrop Bonspiel. The matches were played as a normal bonspiel apart from the sixth end where teams would get a point for every shot they had in the house.
Scott Baird was up against Basil Baird in the first game of the day and it was Scott that had the better start leading 4-2 after four ends. The big move was on the sixth end where Scott's team scored 7 points to Basil's 2. A two in the last end gave Scott a 16-4 victory.
Next up was Graham Young take on Bob Smellie and again this was a close match with Bob leading 4-3 after five ends. Graham scored 7 points to Bob's 6 in the sixth end to level the match. But it was Bob that finished the match smiling when he scored a 2 in the last end to win the match 12-10.
The final match of the day was Ian Keron taking on Bob Graham and like all the other matches the game was very close after five ends with the teams tied at 5-5. Bob took an advantage when he scored 7 points to Ian's 4 in the sixth end and with a 2 in the last end, Bob Graham won the match 13-8.

Bob Graham and his team of Alan Russell and Lesley Barr finished second with plus five shots and Bob Smellie and his team of Graham Wood, Alan Crawford and Manwella finished third with plus two points.
