Russell Stays Top of Stoddart Cup
Game four in this season's Stoddart Cup has setup a great last game with four teams still in the hunt for the title. First up, Graham Young's team won the first three ends with singles against Stewart Barr's team. Stewart's team then scored a three in the fourth end before both teams traded singles going into the last two ends. Graham's team then won the last two ends and won the match 11-4.
David Baird got off and running with a four at the opening end. Alan Russell's team closed the gap by winning two of the next three ends, and then they would take the lead by scoring a three in the fifth end. With the sixth and seventh getting traded with singles, David's team scored a single in the last end to tie the match at 7-7.
The last game saw the bottom two teams up against each other. The game was tied at the halfway point, and then Basil Baird's team stole a single to take the lead. Scott Baird's team then leveled the match again with a single in the sixth end. Basil's held their nerve, taking a two in the last end to win the match 6-4.
