No Swan Song For Midcalder This Year
Midcalder Curling Club were knocked out of the Swan trophy today after losing to Oxenfoord Curling Club. In the semi final match Midcalder One of Alan Russell, Graham Young, Scott Baird and John Sinclair played a close game against Oxenfoord One. The match was tied at three all after five ends before Midcalder One took singles in the last three ends to win 6-3.
Midcalder Two of Stewart Barr, Bob Graham, Lesley Barr and Harry Russell had a hard fight on their hands against Oxenfoord Two after blanking the first end the lost a two in the second. They then found thereself's 9-2 after six ends before they crawled back into the match with a four in the seventh end. With Stewart's last stone in the last end he needed to come through a porthole and hit the Oxenfoord stone out to give them a chance of winning. But unforchitly he grazed off one of the guards, leaving the Oxenfoord stone still lying shot. Oxenfoord didn't have to play their last shot as they had won 10-6 and 13-12 overall.
