Christine Holds On As Sophie Storms Back
The Ladies and Junior Competitions took place at the weekend with lot's of passion and determination on show in both games.
The ladies Competition saw Christine Hamilton, Jean Brash and Jennifer Russell taking on Marion Mulholland, Christine Smellie, Jean Carruthers and Lynne McEwen. Christine Hamilton's team got off to the best start when they went 6-0 up after three ends. Marion's team tried to get back into the match but were unable to get the big score they needed and it was left to Christine's team to win the Ladies Trophy with an 8-3 victory.
The Junior game saw Sophie Sinclair, George Sinclair, Rebecca Baird and Emma Barr taking on James Baird, David Baird, Callum Wood and Ewan Barr. After both teams scoring singles in the first end, it looked like James's team had made the breakthrough in the third end when they won a 3 to lead 4-1. But back came Sophie's team with a 3 in the last end to take the match into an extra end and when they stole a single to win the match 6-5.
