Callum Holds On To Go Back Top Of Cousland
The top two teams were in action against each other in game 6 of the Cousland Cup with Callum Wood taking a big lead early on against Andrew Brash leading 7-0 after two ends. Andrew's team closed the gap to just one point by the sixth end before Callum's team held their nerve by winning singles in the last two ends to win the game 10-7.
Third placed John Sinclair was taking on fourth placed John Baird with James Baird standing in for his dad and it was James that had the better start by winning singles in the first four ends to lead the match 4-0. John Sinclair got back into the match by winning singles in the next two ends and then won the match in the last end by scoring a 3 to win the game 5-4.
The last game of the week saw Christine Hamilton's team win their first match of the season after defeating Lesley Barr's team after leading 6-1 after three ends. Lesley did close the gap but not enough as it was Christine ran out 8-4 winners.
