Cousland Cup Tightens Up After Top Two Teams Drop Points
The top two teams dropped their first points of the league after game 5 of the Cousland Cup.
Andrew Brash's team moved back to the top of the league after a battling draw against Lesley Barr's team. It was Jim Wyllie standing in for Andrew that made the best start after scoring a 2 and a 1 in the first two ends. Back came Lesley with a 4 and a 1 to lead 5-3 but Jim wasn't finished scoring a 1 and a 3 to take back the lead. Lesley had the better finish after scoring two singles in the last two ends for the match to finish 7-7.
John Sinclair moved back into contention after defeating league leaders Callum Wood. John's team got off to a great start after scoring a 5 in the first end and continued to hold the lead at the have way point leading 6-3. Callum's team of three on the night ran out of puff as they failed to close the gap as John ran out 9-3 winners.
