The Master & Three Midcalder Protegees Win Interclub Competition

Midcalder Curling Club held their annual Interclub Competition and this year's invited clubs were Penicuik Curling Club, Kilsyth Curling Club and Livingston Curling Club.
The games are meant to be a friendly game of curling and socializing though we will have to remind some of the Midcalder teams next season about friendly curling!!
The first game was the Midcalder team of Graham Young, Graham Wood, Harry Macpherson and Richard Brown playing Penicuik Curling Club. A slow start by Midcalder saw Penicuik open up a 3-1 lead after four ends and then a 3 in the fifth saw them cement their lead as Penicuik ran out 7-2 winners.
The next game was the Midcalder team of Alan Russell, Christine Hamilton, John Sinclair and Jean Carruthers taking on Kilsyth Curling Club. A great raise from Neil Murray skip of the Kilsyth team gave them a single in the first end but then in the next four ends Midcalder piled on the pressure by playing some great shots and some lucky shots to lead 10-1. Kilsyth won singles in the last two ends to close the gap a bit as Midcalder ran out 10-3 winners.
The last game was the Midcalder team of Jim Wyllie, David Baird, George Sinclair and Callum Wood who were playing Livingston Curling Club. This was the game that was the least friendly to their invited team as Jim guided his three junior members to what can only be said as a one sided match. Livingston tried very hard to find a way through as the Midcalder team kept the pressure on their opponents as they ran out 15-1 winners.
