Wood Goes Back Clear At Top Of Stoddart Cup
The top two teams in the Stoddart Cup were up against each other in a closely played Game 5. Graham Wood was taking on Alan Russell and the teams were tied at 2-2 after four ends before Alan's team scored a 2 in the fifth to take the lead. Graham's team tied the game again in the sixth before stealing a single in the last end to win the match 5-4.
John Sinclair moved up to second in the league after defeating Basil Baird. John's team built up a 3-0 lead before losing a 3 in the third, they then went 6-3 up before Basil scored a 3 in the sixth end to level the match again. 2 two's for John's team in the last two ends finally won the match 10-6.
Bob Grahams win over Stewart Barr in the weeks final match saw Bob's team move up to third in the league. After all ends going with the hammer, Bob's team lead the match 3-2 after four ends before scoring a 2 in the fifth to increase their lead and with singles being scored by both teams in the last two ends the match finished 6-3 to Bob.
