Jonathan Of To A Flyer In Brydie Bonspiel

Midcalder Curling Club opened up their 2016-2017 curling season with the Brydie Bonspiel. The competition is a 2x2x2x2 which sees each player take a turn in skipping two ends each in the match with the team with the highest shots difference winning the bonspiel.

The next game was Graham Young, Callum Wood, Douglas Burns and Alan Graham take on Basil Baird, Bob Graham, Lynne McEwen and Ewan Barr. A good start from Graham's team saw them take a big lead early in the game before Basil's team closed the gap at the end, but not by enough as Graham's team won 11-8.
The last game was Jonathan Irwin, Alan Russell, Harry Macpherson and Jim Wilson playing against Christine Smellie, John Sinclair, Isobel Brydie and Abigail Rennie. This match was close in the first three ends before Jonathan's team went on a winning streak to win the game 12-3 and win the Brydie Bonspiel with +9 shots.
