Marion Is Full Of Fizz In Prosecco Bonspiel
Midcalder held their Ladies Competiton and this year four teams played it out for the Prosecco Bonspiel. The teams would play three ends before the winners would move on to play a further four ends. Christine Smellie held the lead at the halfway point after defeating Lesley Barr 6-0. The second match between Christine Hamilton and Marion Mulholland tied their game 2-2 with Christine's team moving on because they scored two ends.
The second part of the competition saw Christine Smellie score a three before her chances of winning the competition faded when she lost seven shots last three ends to Christine Hamilton who finished on plus four shots. Lesley Barr's day didn't get much better as Marion's team scored a five and two singles as her team finished with plus six shots.
This gave Marion Mulholland and her team of Sheila Arkley, Kate Abbott and Jennifer Russell overall victory.
