Jean Pairs Up With Three To Win Buchanan Quaich

Midcalder Curling Club held their pairs competition at Forfar Curling rink where ten teams would play it out to win the Buchanan Quaich.
With the ice running fast and a good draw, the standards were high as the competition played out.
Bob Smellie for the second year running had to make do with runners-up after he and Andrew Brash just missed out with three wins and one loss.
A cancellation meant Jean Carruthers had no playing partner, but with the aid of George Sinclair in two games and Graham Wood, Alan Russell in one game each, Jean guided her playing partners to four wins and no losses to take the Buchanan Quaich for the first time.
