Sophie Is Scottish Junior Champion

Sophie Sinclair came out on top at the Scottish Curling Junior Women's Championship at Curl Aberdeen. Playing with Team Jackson they came through the round robin stages unbeaten with six wins. They then defeated Team Davie 8-6 in the page playoffs for a place in the final, where they met Team Aitken. In a very close match, the game had to go into an extra end where Team Jackson scored a single to win the Scotish Junior Women Championship.

Other Midcalder members playing in the Scottish Junior Championship had mixed results. Rebecca Baird playing with Team came sixth in the round robin stages with 2 wins and 4 losses.
James Baird playing with Team McNay finished the round robin stages with 4 wins and 3 losses the same as fellow Midcalder member David Baird. This meant the two had to play each other in the tiebreaker for a place in the semi-final. In a close game, Team McNay defeated Team Baird 8-6 which meant they now played Team Whyte, but it was here that James Baird's run in the championship ended when they lost 7-4.
Callum Wood and Ewan Barr playing in Team Cormack gained good experience in their first Scottish Championship.
