Silver For Sophie At World Junior Championships

Sophie Sinclair picked up a silver medal at the World Junior Championships held at Gangneung, Republic of Korea.
The Scotland team of Sophie Jackson, Naomi Brown, Mili Smith, Sophie Sinclair and alternate Laura Barr finished top of the round robin stages with seven wins and two losses. They then lost the play-off game against Sweden 9-6 before bouncing back to defeat Canada 13-2 in the semi-final. In the final Scotland held a 4-3 lead after four ends before Sweden scored a 3 in the fifth to lead 6-4 at the halfway point. Sweden then extended their lead to 8-4 in the sixth, Scotland pulled two back after winning the seventh but again Sweden moved four clear again in the eighth end. Scotland were made to draw for a single to reduce Sweden lead to 10-7 and they held out in the last end by running Scotland out of shots.
Well done to Sophie for a great weeks curling and a great achevment winning the silver medal.
