Midcalder Win Province Bonspiel
Midcalder Curling Club was in action in this seasons Midlothian Province Bonspiel and first up for Midcalder at 10 am was Carrington Curling Cup. The team of Christine Hamilton, Scott Baird, Bob Graham & John Baird got Midcalder off to a great start by winning by six shots.
Next game was at 2 pm against DAFS and the team off Graham Young, Graham Wood, John Sinclair & Jim Wilson had Midcalder's second win of the day with a four-shot victory.
The last game of the bonspiel was against Corstorphine Curling Club at 6 pm and the team of Basil Baird, Stewart Barr, Graham Russell & Alan Crawford who pushed on with the winning ways to defeat Corstorphine by ten shots.
This gave Midcalder a total average of 6.67 which was enough for Midcalder Curling Club to win the Province Bonspiel with S.I.A.E. second and Stray Dogs third.
