Midcalder Heart Beats Strong

British Heart Foundation Bonspiel was once again held at Murrayfield on the Friday nearest Valentine's day which was 17 February.  As usual, Mid Calder entered a team; Jean Carruthers, Harry Macpherson, John Baird and Stewart Barr. We were drawn against the Corriefisters

Our first end score of one was matched by their second end score. Unfortunately, we lost a three at the third end but replied with a two at the fourth. We then proceeded to steal at the next four ends with scores of 2, 1, 1, 2 to finish 9-4 in  Mid Calder's favour.

Good result but not quite good enough to win. Winners were Edinburgh Curling Club.

 

The day raised almost £1000 for the British Heart Foundation - an even better result.
