Good Showing At Scottish Junior Championships
Midcalder Curling Club had five of their juniors at this year's Scottish Curling Junior Championships.
James and David Baird were playing in Team Whyte and the team qualified for the knockout stages of the Junior Men competition with five wins and two losses. They would then go on to lose the page game against Team Mouat 8-5 and then the semi-final game against Team Mcnay 7-4. On the upside, the team was presented with the trophy for winning the Asham Under 21 Slam.
Sophie Sinclair was playing with Team Aitken and they qualified fourth in the group stages of the Junior Women with four wins and three defeats. This took them to a tiebreaker game against Team Young which they won 8-7, but their run came to an end in the semi-final when they lost to Team Murray 7-5.
Rebecca Baird was playing with Team Bryce who was unable to reach the knockout stages of the Junior Women but did finish in sixth place with three wins and four defeats.
George Sinclair was playing in Team Hay and they also were unable to reach the knockout stages of the Junior Men's when they finished in seventh place with two wins and five defeats.
