Midcalder Heading Back To Division One
Midcalder Curling Club will be back playing in Division One of the Midlothian Province League after finishing their campaign against Carrington Curling Club.
Midcalder had to work for promotion after they lost 8-4 to Currie & Balerno on the 9th February, which meant they had to defeat Stewart's Melville FP Curling Club in their final league game. The game went Midcalder's way as they won 11-6 to secure second place in the league behind Carrington.
This left the top two teams playing each other in the final game. The Midcalder Team of David Baird, Scott Baird, John Sinclair and Jim Wilson traded single in the first two ends before Midcalder took control of the game on challenging ice as Carrington shook hands in the fifth end with Midcalder leading 7-1.
Congratulations to David Baird, Scott Baird, John Sinclair, Jim Wilson, Stewart Barr and Basil Baird who guided Midcalder back to Division One.
