Midcalder Win District Medal

 

For the District Medal, Mid Calder were drawn against Helensburgh at Braehead, Glasgow on Monday 6 March 2017.

 

Mid Calder were represented by Stewart Barr, Bob Graham, Harry Macpherson and Alan Graham; Team2; Basil Baird, Scott Baird, Graham Wood and Callum Wood.

 

Team 1 took an early lead with a 1 in the first end but were pulled back as Helensburgh scored a 1 in the second.  However, that was the last success for Team Helensburgh as Mid Calder took the remaining six ends to win 10-1.

 

The other game was much more varied.  Mid Calder lost a 5 and replied with a 3 and then a 4. At the last end there was only one shot in it at 9-8 and the game finished at 9 all.  

 

With a win and a draw, Mid Calder are winners of the District Medal.
